The approval of commercial flight operations at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport has sparked renewed excitement across the state — and for Adeyeye Mobolaji Johnson, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Physical Planning, it’s another compelling reason why Governor Biodun Oyebanji must be re-elected to sustain the state’s current wave of progress.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), in a letter dated October 3, 2025, officially approved the commencement of scheduled commercial flights at the airport, effective October 4, 2025. The permit, valid for six months in its initial phase, upgrades the airport from its previous non-scheduled status, which expired in December 2024, to a fully licensed commercial hub.
Johnson, a loyal stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Itaji-Ekiti in Oye Local Government, described the development as “a visible dividend of steady, focused leadership.” He said the success of the Oyebanji administration in turning long-term plans into reality demonstrates why the Governor deserves continuity as the APC governorship primary draws near on October 27.
“This airport project shows what good governance looks like — it’s purposeful, result-oriented and people-centred,” Johnson said. “Governor Oyebanji has proven that progress comes from consistency, not experimentation. That’s why we must all rally behind him.”
