Akinlayo Activates Grassroots Political Structure for Oyebanji’s Re-election Campaign

A member of the House of Representatives, Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, has begun mobilising political structures across his constituency to strengthen support for the re-election of Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, governor of Ekiti State.

Hon. Akinlayo convened a strategic meeting on Sunday at his residence in Ikosu Ekiti, bringing together party stakeholders and former council officials to map out mobilisation plans ahead of the next election cycle.

The gathering focused on building a coordinated grassroots campaign to secure another term for Governor Oyebanji and his deputy, Monisade Afuye. Participants examined the political landscape across the constituency and discussed ways to strengthen party presence at ward and community levels.

Five former councillors from each local government area within the constituency attended the first session of the meeting. They shared field experience, electoral insights and practical suggestions aimed at improving political coordination and strengthening the party’s local structures.

Discussions later shifted to grassroots mobilisation. Stakeholders agreed to appoint committed party members from every ward across the three local governments to lead local engagement. The selected coordinators will mobilise supporters, organise community-based political activities and sustain contact with voters in the build-up to the election.

Party leaders at the meeting stressed that disciplined coordination, inclusive participation and strong grassroots presence would determine the outcome of the next contest.

The mobilisation drive forms part of wider efforts by allies of the governor to consolidate political support across Ekiti communities as calls grow within the party for a second term mandate for Mr Oyebanji under the “BAO 4+4” campaign message.
