Akinlayo Backs Oyebanji’s Second-Term Bid, Urges Statewide Continuity Support

Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, the lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, has endorsed Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for a second term, urging residents of Ekiti State to support what he described as a continuity agenda already delivering measurable results across key sectors.

Hon. Akinlayo announced his position on Thursday, saying the governor had demonstrated “tested and dependable leadership” through policies that directly affect workers, retirees, students, and local communities. He argued that the administration’s record in infrastructure renewal, human capital development, and fiscal discipline provides strong grounds for re-election.

The federal legislator pointed to the consistent payment of salaries and pensions as a major achievement that has stabilised households and restored public confidence in government. According to him, the government’s targeted investments in education and skills development continue to reinforce Ekiti’s long-standing academic reputation while preparing young people for emerging economic opportunities.

Hon. Akinlayo said sustaining the current administration beyond its first term would help consolidate ongoing reforms and accelerate development programmes already underway. He called on voters to prioritise the broader interests of the state and support leadership that, in his words, “has shown capacity, consistency, and commitment to Ekiti’s long-term progress.”
