Hon. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo, member representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency II, has congratulated former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, on his 61st birthday, describing him as a leader whose influence continues to shape governance, democratic ideals, and public leadership across Nigeria and beyond.
In a goodwill message released on Monday, Hon. Akinlayo said Dr. Fayemi’s record as former governor of Ekiti State, former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and current Chairman of the Forum of Regions of Africa (FORAF) reflects a career defined by intellectual depth, policy clarity, and sustained commitment to democratic development.
The lawmaker noted that Dr. Fayemi’s leadership has inspired a new generation of public servants and political leaders, adding that his years in public office produced reforms and governance initiatives that continue to influence institutional growth within and outside Ekiti State.
According to him, the former governor’s contributions to democratic consolidation, public policy development, and international governance dialogue have earned him wide respect across Africa and the global community, positioning him as one of Nigeria’s most recognised voices in progressive leadership.
Hon. Akinlayo added that beyond public office, Dr. Fayemi has remained active in mentoring emerging leaders and supporting initiatives that promote accountable governance, civic engagement, and leadership development.
He wished the elder statesman continued good health, strength, and renewed accomplishments in the years ahead, noting that his legacy of service and policy-driven leadership remains a reference point for many within Nigeria’s political landscape.
