Mobolaji Adeyeye, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has hailed Nigeria on her 65th Independence anniversary and Ekiti State on its 29th year of creation, urging citizens to confront the nation’s crossroads with courage and clarity.
Mobolaji Adeyeye, in a statement marking the twin celebrations, said Nigerians and the people of Ekiti must see this moment as decisive in shaping their collective destiny. He called on public officers, political leaders and noble citizens alike to “push forward passionately and positively” in order to achieve the true essence of Nigeria and Ekiti State.
“This is a defining period for us as a people,” he said. “We cannot afford complacency. Our leaders and followers must work in unison to ensure that the dreams of our founders are not betrayed. Ekiti’s 29 years represent resilience, and Nigeria at 65 stands at the threshold of either renewal or decline. The choice is ours.”
The APC chieftain described Ekiti’s journey since 1996 as one marked by struggle and sacrifice, but also by immense potential yet to be fully realised. He urged those in power to deliver governance that speaks to the realities of ordinary citizens, insisting that progress must be measured not only in infrastructure but also in dignity, justice and opportunity.
Mobolaji Adeyeye stressed that anniversaries should not be mere ceremonies but moments of reflection and rededication. “We must redefine what it means to be Nigerian, what it means to be Ekiti. Our story is not yet complete. It is ours to write, but we must choose courage over fear, service over self-interest, and vision over excuses.”
