The Ekiti State Government has launched the MSME ICT Skill Acquisition Hub, an ambitious initiative designed to equip young people with cutting-edge digital skills. This program is set to accelerate digital transformation, spur innovation, and create job opportunities for youths across the state.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, the State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Mrs. Omotayo Adeola, described the project as a collaborative effort between the government and Wakocode Technologies. She emphasized that the initiative is focused on equipping youths with high-demand ICT skills that will position them for success in today’s global tech-driven economy.

“This initiative aligns with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s vision to empower young people through digital innovation,” she stated. “By providing them with globally competitive skills, we are creating opportunities for them to earn decent incomes while contributing meaningfully to the digital workforce.”

The first cohort of the program will offer training in Full Stack Development, Backend Development, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Cloud Computing. It is open to unemployed youths aged 18 to 35, irrespective of their educational background, as long as they are eager to learn and embrace remote work opportunities from Ekiti.

Applications are now open, and interested candidates can apply via https://ekiti.wakocode.ng/.

With this initiative, Ekiti State is positioning itself as a hub for digital talent, ensuring that its youths are equipped with the necessary skills to compete in the global digital landscape.
