In a distressing turn of events, a family of three was abducted from their home in Chikakore, Kubwa, within the Bwari Area Council of Abuja, during a midnight raid on Monday. The victims—Adefija Michael Akinropo, his wife, and their young son—were taken by a group of armed bandits, who launched a coordinated attack under the cover of darkness.

Eyewitnesses report that the assailants, estimated to be around 30 in number and armed with AK-47 rifles, not only kidnapped the Akinropo family but also seized Michael’s elder brother. In a related development, the bandits targeted a nearby poultry farm, where they abducted another man and injured his wife in the process.

The chilling attack sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents noting that police officers from the Byazin station responded promptly to the incident. However, despite their efforts, the kidnappers have not made contact with the families of the victims, leaving the situation in a tense limbo.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, has reassured the public that investigations are actively underway. She emphasized that every effort is being made to ensure the safe return of the abducted individuals and bring those responsible to justice.

As this unsettling situation continues to unfold, the local community is on edge, hoping for a swift resolution and the safe return of their loved ones.
