As the calendar turned to November, Honourable Ibrahim Olarenwaju Kunle, Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, sent a message that was equal parts reassurance and conviction, a promise that Ekiti’s faith in its leaders will not be in vain.
In his words, the new month will not just usher in the usual political platitudes, but what he called “dividends of hope”, the kind of transformation people can feel, not just hear about.
“The confidence Ekiti people placed in Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji will be fully justified,” he said. “He is determined to deliver not just democracy’s dividends, but outcomes that truly change lives.”
Olarenwaju spoke with the assurance of a man close to power, one who sees the alignment between Abuja and Ado-Ekiti as a defining advantage. He described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji as a “strategic partnership” committed to resetting Nigeria’s development narrative and positioning Ekiti as one of its prime beneficiaries.
According to him, the synergy between Tinubu’s national reform agenda and Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity vision has created what he called “Ekiti’s moment”, a window of opportunity that must be met with faith and patience.
“Both leaders have the courage and competence to steer this nation and our state toward tangible progress,” he said. “They possess the fortitude to change the story, from economic strain to renewal, from waiting to witnessing.”
For Hon. Olarenwaju, the message to his people was simple: stay hopeful, stay the course. He ended his statement with a prayer — for a peaceful, productive November and for Ekiti Kete to continue standing firm behind a government that, in his words, “means well and is working still.”
