Venite University, Iloro Ekiti, has secured a five-year full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its Bachelor of Nursing Science programme after scoring 82.80 per cent in the commission’s May 2026 accreditation exercise.
The approval, contained in an official letter dated 13 July 2026, authorises the university to continue offering the Nursing Science programme under the NUC’s full accreditation status.
The accreditation strengthens the university’s College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and reinforces its growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s emerging private universities expanding access to quality nursing education.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Charity Aremu, said the approval reflects the university’s sustained investment in quality teaching, modern learning facilities and academic standards aimed at producing highly skilled healthcare professionals.
She said the university would continue to strengthen its academic delivery and maintain the standards that earned the institution the commission’s confidence.
Professor Aremu thanked the National Universities Commission for the approval and commended members of the university community whose efforts contributed to the successful outcome.
She specifically praised the Directorate, the Provost of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, the Head of the Nursing Science Programme, the chairman and members of the accreditation committees, members of staff and the Venite University Council for their commitment to the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence.
“Our Nursing Science programme has become top-notch, and this accreditation validates the quality of education and training we provide,” she said.
With admissions currently ongoing for the 2026/2027 academic session, the university said the accreditation further strengthens its capacity to deliver industry-focused nursing education through experienced faculty, modern facilities and practical training designed to prepare graduates for careers in Nigeria and beyond.
