Otunba Oluwadare Owolabi, a Senate aspirant for Ekiti North Senatorial District, has congratulated former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, on his 61st birthday, praising his influence in governance, democratic development, and leadership mentorship across Nigeria and the African continent.
In a congratulatory message released on Monday, Mr Owolabi described Dr. Fayemi as a statesman whose leadership record, spanning state governance, national policy engagement, and continental diplomacy, continues to shape conversations on democratic reforms and institutional development.
He noted that Fayemi’s tenure as Governor of Ekiti State, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and current Chairman of the Forum of Regions of Africa (FORAF) reflects a career built on policy depth, intellectual engagement, and commitment to strengthening democratic institutions.
According to the Senate aspirant, the former governor has remained active in mentoring emerging leaders and contributing to public discourse on governance, conflict resolution, and development policy, positioning him as one of Nigeria’s most respected voices in progressive leadership circles.
Mr Owolabi added that Fayemi’s consistent engagement in governance reforms and international policy dialogue has elevated his reputation beyond national boundaries, making him a prominent African representative in global leadership conversations.
He wished the former governor continued strength, sound health, and greater accomplishments, noting that his legacy of service and leadership development continues to inspire political leaders and young professionals across Ekiti State and beyond.
