The Nigerian gospel music industry has been rocked by explosive claims from Ezekiel “EeZee Tee” ThankGod, the CEO of EeZee Conceptz, regarding his recent ordeal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a shocking revelation, EeZee Tee disclosed that he was allegedly compelled under duress to transfer a staggering $274,000 to award-winning gospel singer Mercy Chinwo while in detention.
EeZee Tee, who was reportedly detained for nine days, claimed that he was coerced into making the transfer against his will. According to him, authorities allegedly pressured him to comply or remain in detention.
“They said to me, if I don’t write what I’m told to write, I’m going to remain in detention,” EeZee Tee revealed. This revelation comes amid recent allegations of financial misconduct leveled against the gospel label boss.
Beyond the forced transfer, EeZee Tee also stated that Mercy Chinwo has outstanding financial obligations to him, including record label funds, her third album, and several other singles. EeZee Tee shed light on his contractual agreements with Mercy Chinwo and other artists under his label. He explained that the standard contract ratio was 50/50, while for some artists, it was 60/40. Despite these agreements, he claims Mercy Chinwo has not fulfilled her financial obligations, making the forced transaction even more unjust.
Reaffirming his integrity, EeZee Tee stated, “I have never visited a police station before. I’m a credible Nigerian citizen. I just do business.” He expressed frustration over the allegations against him and the circumstances that led to his detention.
