President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju, has paid glowing tribute to the First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, describing her as “a rare blend of intellect, grace, and compassion” as she marks her birthday.
In his statement, Hon. Olanrewaju hailed Dr. Oyebanji’s unwavering devotion to education, community welfare, and women’s empowerment, values he said have set her apart as “a quiet force shaping the moral and intellectual soul of Ekiti.”
He praised her voluntary service as a lecturer across three state universities, teaching without pay—an uncommon gesture he described as “a bold testament to her belief in knowledge as the foundation of a prosperous society.” According to him, “Dr. Oyebanji’s passion for moulding young minds goes beyond rhetoric; she’s in the classroom, transferring knowledge, inspiring confidence, and nurturing the next generation of leaders.”
Hon. Olanrewaju also commended her humanitarian drive through the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope Initiative (WAOH), which he said has “restored dignity and offered economic lifelines to countless Ekiti families.”
“Through WAOH, she has brought real change, empowering widows, supporting orphans, and easing the burdens of the elderly. Her compassion isn’t performative; it’s practical and deeply felt in homes across the state,” he said.
Highlighting her advocacy for women’s rights, the presidential aide applauded Dr. Oyebanji’s firm stance on gender-based violence, calling her “a fearless defender of women and girls” whose efforts ensure that laws protecting them are not merely enacted but enforced.
He further celebrated her Back to School initiative, which has provided school materials to more than 10,000 children, particularly girls, ensuring no child is left behind in the pursuit of education.
Hon. Olanrewaju described the First Lady as a “pillar of quiet strength” to her husband, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, adding that her calm influence and intellect have been instrumental to the administration’s human-centred vision.
“We celebrate not just another birthday, but another year of grace and impact. Dr. Oyebanji’s story is one of empathy in action and leadership through service,” he concluded.
