The Association of Ekiti Local Government Students’ Union Presidents (AELOGSUP) has received ₦1 million as the second tranche of its subvention from the Ekiti State Government, bringing the total support received by the association to ₦1.8 million.
Information reaching GistNaijaHub indicates that the association, led by Aare Adeyemi Temitope Omolayo, received ₦800,000 as its first tranche before the latest payment.
The latest intervention is expected to support AELOGSUP’s activities and student-focused initiatives across Ekiti State, as the association continues to engage with the government on issues affecting students.
AELOGSUP has expressed appreciation to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his continued support, describing his administration as student-friendly and willing to invest in initiatives that directly affect young people.
The association said the governor’s support goes beyond the financial assistance, noting that it also reflects the government’s recognition of the role students and their leaders can play in the development of Ekiti State.
AELOGSUP also thanked the Ekiti State Ministry of Youth Development and its Commissioner, Adesola Gold Adesola, for the ministry’s continued cooperation with the association.
According to the association, its partnership with the ministry has created room for better communication between government and student leaders, particularly on issues affecting students across the state.
The association said it would handle the ₦1 million second tranche responsibly and use it for programmes and activities focused on student welfare, leadership development, educational advancement and meaningful engagement.
AELOGSUP further assured the government that the financial support would be matched with responsible leadership and effective representation of students at the local government level.
Aare Adeyemi Temitope Omolayo, on behalf of the association’s leadership and members, thanked Governor Oyebanji and Hon. Adesola Gold Adesola for their continued support.
The association said it remained committed to strengthening its relationship with the Ekiti State Government and advancing the interests of students across the state.
