APC Chieftain, Mobolaji Adeyeye Rallies Ekiti Members Ahead of October 27 Primary, Endorses Oyebanji for Second Term

APC SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES AND TIMETABLE FOR THE 2026 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION IN EKITI STATE

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mobolaji Adeyeye, has urged party members and citizens of Ekiti State to approach the forthcoming gubernatorial primary election with civility and constructive engagement, stressing that the health of democracy depends on responsible contest.

Mr Adeyeye, speaking ahead of the primary scheduled for 27 October 2025, declared that Governor Biodun Oyebanji had earned the right to seek a second term, citing what he described as the governor’s steady performance in office.

“It is beyond argument that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has delivered purposeful leadership in Ekiti. His record speaks in roads, schools, jobs, and the dignity restored to governance. A second term is not just his right to seek, it is the logical step if Ekiti is to build on the foundation already laid,” Mr Adeyeye said.

He expressed confidence that the governor would secure the party’s ticket, but cautioned aspirants and their supporters against destructive politics.

“As we approach October 27, I have no doubt he will earn the ticket of our party. But let us remember: the strength of democracy lies not in silencing opposition, but in encouraging a contest of ideas conducted with respect. Our differences should sharpen our vision, not tear down our house. Those who seek to divide for selfish ambition risk damaging not just the APC, but the very progress of Ekiti itself,” he added.

The APC chieftain appealed to aspirants and supporters across Ekiti to resist bitterness in their campaigns and instead project ideas that can strengthen both the party and the state. He expressed confidence that the ruling party would emerge from the primaries more united, noting that internal discipline and constructive politics remain the surest path to growth.

“May our party continue to grow seamlessly,” he said. “The progress of Ekiti and Nigeria rests on our ability to rise above narrow ambition and build on what is working.”
