Mobolaji Adeyeye, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, has urged fellow party leaders, stakeholders & members to uphold the ideals of democracy and the values of progressive governance as the party prepares for its gubernatorial primary in October 2025.
Mr Mobolaji Adeyeye said the contest should not be seen as a battle of personalities but as a collective reaffirmation of the APC’s mission to serve Nigerians with fairness, unity, and patriotism.
“Our strength is not in titles or positions but in the spirit of service we bring to this party,” he said. “APC was founded to give every Nigerian a fair chance, to bridge divides, and to rekindle the kind of patriotism that binds us together as one people. The primary is not just about choosing a candidate; it is about showing that democracy still works within our fold.”
Mr Adeyeye warned against actions that could undermine internal unity. He stressed that the constitution of the APC charges members to render selfless service and eliminate discrimination or injustice in the political space.
“Ekiti deserves leaders who put the people first,” he added. “What we do in October will reflect not only on our candidate but on the credibility of our party. If we approach it with bitterness, we lose more than an election; we lose the trust of those who look up to us as progressives.”
He called on delegates and stakeholders to see themselves as custodians of the party’s ideals. “This is bigger than individual ambition. Democracy means compromise, respect, and responsibility. When we come together in peace, APC stands taller and Ekiti stands stronger.”
The APC primary, scheduled for October, will determine the party’s flagbearer for the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti.
