In a glowing tribute marking the third anniversary of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, an Australia-based Ekiti-born engineer, Engr. Olaoluwa Dawodu, has described Ekiti State as “a rising star whose light is now visible beyond Nigeria’s borders.”
Dawodu, a Chartered Professional Engineer and Founder of Tite Knox Pty Ltd, said Oyebanji’s performance over the last three years has elevated Ekiti’s reputation through bold infrastructure, economic foresight, and a rare sense of inclusion in governance.
Speaking from Perth, Western Australia, Dawodu who hails from Isan-Ekiti, the governor’s hometown — praised what he called “visible, measurable and people-driven transformation.” He said the governor’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture and social welfare, have given Ekiti a new identity as a state of serious intent.
He cited the completion and full commercial approval of the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport as one of the administration’s landmark successes, describing it as “a monumental breakthrough that has opened Ekiti to global opportunities.” The airport, he noted, has already begun drawing investor attention, cutting logistics costs for exporters and laying the groundwork for job creation across the value chain.
Dawodu also applauded the ongoing Ado-Ekiti Ring Road (Phase I) and other rural road projects, which, according to him, are revolutionising the movement of goods and agricultural produce across the state. “Farmers are already reaping the benefits — faster access to markets, better returns and renewed confidence in government’s promises,” he said.
He commended the governor’s investment in health facilities and the administration’s policy on inclusiveness, particularly towards people with disabilities, calling it “proof that leadership can be both strategic and compassionate.”
“We are witnessing a truly impactful era of governance,” he said. “Governor Oyebanji’s style is simple but deeply effective he builds quietly, but his results speak loudly. Ekiti is no longer a developing state; it is a state developing at speed.”
Engr. Dawodu, who has built an international career in Mining Design, Maintenance and Project Engineering, expressed optimism about the state’s future under Oyebanji’s stewardship. He wished the governor continued success as he prepares for re-election, adding that “the people of Ekiti, both home and abroad, are watching with pride and standing firmly behind him.”
With three years down and visible progress across the board, Dawodu’s message from the diaspora adds a strong voice to growing commendations for Oyebanji’s government a sign that the Ekiti story, once told quietly, is now being echoed from continents away.
