Buba Marwa has urged residents of Adamawa State to embrace unity and political maturity as Muslims mark Eid-el-Fitr, warning that divisions could undermine the state’s progress ahead of key political activities.
Speaking through a statement released in Yola, the Adamawa Progressives Elders Council congratulated the Muslim Ummah on completing Ramadan, calling on citizens to carry forward the discipline, sacrifice, and charity observed during the holy month.
The council, led by the former military administrator, framed the celebration as a moment to rebuild trust across communities, urging residents to rise above ethnic, religious, and political differences.
Marwa said the significance of Eid-el-Fitr lies in its ability to bring people together, insisting that the state must use the moment to strengthen unity and reinforce a shared sense of purpose.
He also turned attention to the political climate, calling on members of the All Progressives Congress to approach upcoming activities on the timetable of the Independent National Electoral Commission with restraint and a sense of responsibility.
The council commended key stakeholders, including Nuhu Ribadu and Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for their roles in strengthening political participation, particularly following the party’s recent e-registration exercise.
It noted that Adamawa recorded the second-highest figures nationwide, behind Lagos State, describing the turnout as a signal of growing confidence in the leadership of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Marwa closed with a call for calm and cooperation, urging residents to protect the state’s stability while working towards shared prosperity, as the Sallah celebrations unfold.
