Hon. Ibrahim Olarenwaju, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on National Assembly Matters, has hailed Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for making history as the first alumnus of Ekiti State University (EKSU) to be inducted into the institution’s Alumni Hall of Fame.
The honour, described by Olarenwaju as “richly deserved,” crowns Oyebanji’s record of performance and deep personal connection to his alma mater. He said the recognition goes beyond ceremony, it celebrates a full-circle moment where a former student now shapes the institution’s destiny as its Visitor.
“This is not just about prestige; it’s about purpose fulfilled,” Olarenwaju said. “Governor Oyebanji’s leadership mirrors the values EKSU instilled in him, service, excellence, and loyalty to community. His remarkable support for the university, including the over 100% increase in subvention, shows that his roots still drive his reforms.”
Olarenwaju noted that the accolades from the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor affirm Oyebanji’s visible impact on the institution’s stability and development. He described the Governor as “a living proof of the university’s capacity to raise leaders who transform society.”
